Hello & Welcome
I'm Sharon, the photographer and teacher behind "Discover Photography Courses".
For over 15 years I've worked as a professional photographer, and for the past eight I've been helping beginners find their footing behind the lens.
I hold an Advanced Diploma in Fine Art Photography, but what really drives my teaching is a simple belief: everyone can be a photo artist and capture light beautifully, no matter what camera they own.
My classes run as relaxed day sessions, in small groups of up to 4 students.
I also run day trips, and inspiring weekend getaways across the diverse landscape I'm lucky to call home.
There's nothing quite like chasing the soft glow of sunrise or that magic golden hour just before sunset, the break of an early wave over the ocean or the rolling mist from the mountains.
Based in the Illawarra region, I live with my husband and am always happy when my two grown children drop by. When I'm not teaching, you'll usually find me exploring new locations, camera in hand, still learning and discovering some where I can share with others .
